Money.
Whilst in France, I noticed that, unlike in Australia, shopkeepers don’t like to hand change directly back to you. Most shops even have a special tray that they place the change on. They don’t seem to mind taking the money from your hand so I don’t think this is a hygeine thing. Maybe its so the customer can inspect the change to make sure its correct. Don’t know.

Tricky’s hotel booty.
Since we’ve had the car, we’ve been staying in hotel rooms until we can buy a few essential camping items. Tricky has been raiding the complimentary items left in our hotel rooms. So now one of our small bags is stuffed with soaps, shampoos, tea, coffee, sugar and little biscuits, all individually wrapped for our convenience. I’m sure they’ll come in handy.

Disneyland, Paris
We spent the day at Disneyland last Friday and it was great. Its easy to scoff at Disneyland as its such a touristy thing to do but we both had the best time, and for me, it took me back to my childhood when the whole family would gather around the TV on Sunday nights and watch Disney. The park is incredibly detailed and well executed, right down to the music playing in the background the whole time. We went on 2 of the scariest rides I have EVER been on. We spent the whole day there until sundown and did not get bored or feel tired once.

Paris- the rough guide
1. Paris is very beautiful.
2. The Parisians are generally polite and helpful, not what we were told to expect.
3. The Lourve is mind-boggling, far too much to see in one day.
4. Notre Dame is a big gothic church.
5. The Eiffel Tower is very big, very brown and very ugly.
More later.
