Quick updates.

Got the sack on Friday. Not really the sack because I’m a locum and was told I won’t be needed after the end of next week. That’s the life of a locum but it was a big shock, nonetheless. But at least now I will have some time to spend with…..

my brother Benza (not his real name) who is here for a visit which is fantastic cause we often miss our family and friends from home. He brought us gifts from home including a set of pj’s for both Tricky and myself from my sister Bernadette (perfect for the coming winter, thanks Berna) and a bag full of…...

Australian delicacies like Tim Tams, Mint Slices, Burger Rings and Twisties. We are in snackfood heaven. Tricky is also in technology heaven ‘cause she has a shiny new….

G5 Macintosh complete with 17 inch Apple screen the cow. I shouldn’t call her a cow though cause she’s lovely and this coming Thursday, September 18, we will have been….

married for TEN years. I love her more every day but never more than after she got that G5.

Here’s to being unemployed, to munching on Tim Tams, to Apple Macintosh G5s and to another ten years with my baby.

I’ve been a slack arse.

Ok, so I’ve been neglecting my web site lately and haven’t posted any photos for ages. Its now almost a year since we left home and I still have loads of photos from our travels to post.

But, now I’ve found some new software to do exactly what I want with the photos. I should be putting more up this weekend I hope (including some of Max and Sandy in their new home) so stay tuned.

Hitchcock Blonde and the Two Americans..

Tricky and I went to see some theatre tonight.

Hitchcock Blonde was the play. It was about a fictitious lost Alfred Hitchcock film that has just been unearthed by a media studies professor who uses it to get into his young student’s pants-it works. The play had two main elements feeding off each other, the affair of the professor and the student, and Hitchcock auditioning a young blonde actress. It was fantastic! Especially the guy who played Hitchcock. He was perfect. The girl who played the student was also excellent.

Oh and there was some female nudity. You can never have too much female nudity.

The other thing is that there were these two American women behind me who were pissing me off. They kept saying in their annoying American accents This is garbage… why is she writhing on the floor…I don’t get the sets, is that meant to be cool or something… Its not what I expected… I’m a little disappointed….I’m hungry…. Lets go find a Starbucks…I feel like a Quarter Pounder… until I just wanted to turn around and just tell them to shut the fuck up. But of course I didn’t.

Disclaimers

I have nothing personally against Americans in general, only annoying whiny Americans who interrupt my enjoyment of a fine theatre production. Not all American’s are annoying. Some even enjoy well-acted, entertaining, innovative theatre. Not all American accents are annoying. Some are cool. Andy Sipowicz for example. Some Americans possibly find Australian accents annoying (unlikely but possible). The two Americans didn’t really say Lets go find a Starbucks nor did they say I feel like a Quarter Pounder…

New job.

I’ve got a new job in South Kensington at the Royal Marsden Hospital, which is a specialist cancer hospital. This will be an interesting and challenging place to work although I expected to be doing wards a bit sooner than I apparently will (if I ever get to do it). Time will tell. I’ll miss my friends at the Princess Royal where I spent about 6 months but was getting really tired of the 1.5+ hour train journey every morning and evening.

Max and Sandy are in da house.

Well, our puppies have arrived after a 24 hour journey from Australia.

They arrived in 36 degree heat in the back of an air conditioned van. They wagged their tails at us and sniffed us a bit and then pissed off to check out their new home. Tricky and I were a little disappointed that they seemed less interested in us than in the dog and cat smells left by previous tenants. We put it down to jet lag though and, sure enough, after a long sleep they were back to their boisterous doggie selves, just like we remember. We love them!

Special thanks to Berna and Dah for taking care of our babies for the last (almost) one year. We love you too.
