Some quick updates

  • More bombs today. 1 bus, 3 on tubes. None exploded thank God (insert deity of choice.)
  • I've been riding to work since that day. I'd forgotten there is a great and beautiful city above the tube tunnels. My thighs are killing me, but I feel great. This is the most exercise I've done in a long time.
  • Snowy continues to grow. We can feel a little curvy bum and what must be elbows, knees or feet. We can't wait to meet this baby. Around eight weeks to go.
  • Tricky has adopted the pregnant lady waddle.
  • Forgot to post on my birthday. Besides the fantastic 4D Snowy ultrasound, Tricky got me a short course in painting at the Putney School of Art and Design. Starts in September. Can't wait for that either.
  • I'm getting a bit bored of blogging. Maybe I need to do it more often, but I feel there are more important things to think of at this time.

Hey Tim… been calling by your lovely site for a few months now. Sad to see your last update was nearly a month ago. Hope it hasn’t been the terrorist activity that has knocked you off track...we mustn’t let them get us down! We’re a tough lot here. I lived and worked in Belfast for a good part of the 70’s… now that was a bumpy ride. (and that’s not to deny the sad and terrible things that went on, but hopefully, now we are coming out the other side, into the light.)

I have really enjoyed your site and all your news… it must be only around 4 weeks till 2 become 3… tell us all about it.

I also like the design and whole feel of the site, but it is a living thing and it needs you to dust it off and get back to business!

Whatever happens best wishes to you, Tricky and Snowy.

Thanks, Peter.

You are, of course, entirely correct. I do need to dust things off and get back to business.

I have have been preoccupied by various goings on for a couple of months now, not least of which are the bombs of last month and of course, my impending fatherhood. But, if I were to be completely honest, I have a wealth of things to write about and my lack of posts mostly comes down to good old-fashioned laziness and perhaps a too-comfortable sense of familiarity and sameness to my life.

As has happened before, it takes the gentle prodding of others to force me to revisit why I started this blog several years ago – to chronicle my experiences travelling and living in a foreign (though familiar) country. So I’m going to start with some new posts tonight tomorrow (hah, its late, I’m tired, Tricky wants me to give her a back-rub!), then take my camera out tomorrow and see what I can find.

Thank you.
